Carlos' Way Back Home

Cesia’s three-year-old nephew, Carlos, has been living in an orphanage for the last year and a half following the passing of his mother, Cesia’s older sister.

When Carlos was just a baby, Cesia would take care of him for her sister, but when she passed away, he was taken to an orphanage. 

Since then, Cesia has been working to get him home with family, and our team has had the honor of supporting her and her family with essential home repairs and creating a space for Carlos to grow up with his loving aunt, uncle, cousins, and grandma, who lives next door!

On the day of the reunification, his grandmothers, aunts, and cousins were waiting for him at their home, which they had decorated with a "welcome home" sign and a cake to celebrate Carlos finally being back home! There were so many tears of joy from his family as the wait for him to be home was finally over.

Thanks to your partnership, Cesia and her whole family were supported with the living conditions and empowered with the tools they needed, and now Carlos can grow up and thrive surrounded by his loving family!
